Set within the historic brick building of the Domino Sugar Factory, built in 1884 and located in the creative and vibrant neighborhood of Williamsburg, which perfectly blends with the Bvlgari Studio visionary and innovative concept, this one-of-a-kind location celebrates this year its 1¢Oth anniversary, an achievement shared with the Jewelry House. The exclusive venue features a unique combination of tradition and innovation, embodying the ability daring ability to embrace change and renewal which equally marks the spirit of the Roman Jeweler.
The new striking designs of the jewelry collection — born from a bold crafting technique pioneered by the Italian Jeweler in the 19¢Os - were unveiled in the frame of Bvlgari Studio, a hub for co- creation and experimentation which saw its debut earlier this year in Seoul. Introduced to nourish the narrative of Bvlgari’s most legendary icons, the multidisciplinary platform unleashes unprecedented synergies through the trailblazing vision of contemporary creators.
Welcomed by Bvlgari Deputy CEO Laura Burdese and Bvlgari President of North America Hervé Perrot, media, influencers, artists and friends of the House such as Monica Barbaro, Kelly Wearstler, Aurora James, Olivia Culpo, Isabella Boylston, alongside a slew of celebrities including super model and philanthropist Naomi Campbell, actress Dakota Johnson and actor Damson Idris enjoyed performances by futuristic musician Masego and light artist Christopher Bauder, fostering a dynamic and inspiring creative dialogue about Bvlgari Tubogas and beyond, immersed into the warm light of New York golden hour.
At their arrival guests were captivated by a narrative path, tracing the evolution of Tubogas from a flexible gold stripe, born out of ingenious experimentation and superior craftsmanship, to an iconic jewelry collection. Its signature enveloping lines and fluid movements, achieved without any soldering, were highlighted by an evocative set-up and enhanced through the digital campaign of Antoni Tudisco, one of the multi-disciplinary artists who joined the platform since its unveil.
Embodying the dynamic essence and experimental spirit of Bvlgari Studio, during the evening a seamless blend of different performances animated the venue’s vibrant spaces overlooking New York’s skyline, in a fluid dance of creative visions.
“THE WAVE", the kinetic light sculpture signed by light artist and designer Christopher Bauder and his team at studio WHlTEvoid, transformed the gold spirals of Bvlgari Tubogas into a boundary-pushing visual experience. The calm yet dynamic rhythm of its luminous waves evolved perfectly in sync with the dance performance directed by Friend of the House and principal ballerina Isabella Boylston, a celebration of the endless sense of movement and tactile suppleness underlying the jewelry collection.
Accompanying this moment, in a hypnotic union of movement, light and sound, was Masego’s musical soundtrack. The Jamaican-American vocalist, multi-instrumentalist and producer, is famed for his signature blend of Soul, R&B and Jazz. Following the dance performance, to enchant guests an acoustic performance curated by the multitalented artist exclusively for Bvlgari Studio took place. In the setting of the light interplay provided by Bauder’s installation “THE WAVE," Masego combined his unique voice with the sounds of a piano and looper, effortlessly blurring genres with his captivating performance.
A blend of technical artistry, spirit of innovation and inventive contamination, his energetic performance perfectly reflected the identity of Bvlgari Studio, as well as with the essence of the Bvlgari Tubogas jewelry collection, born form the drive to create something surprisingly new.
From the golden hour until late evening, DJ Nancy Whang with her sounds and Myles Hendrik’s DJ set, created a dazzling atmosphere entertaining the guests.
Meanwhile, the inspiring journey of Bvlgari Studio will continue in Bvlgari’s Fifth Avenue flagship boutique with a dedicated installation and selected Bvlgari Tubogas jewelry creations on display.
