Zino Davidoff (1906 - 1994) knew how to use the time that was given to him. He was a cosmopolitan in his convictions, an early “global thinker” and a passionate traveller. He lived in an epoch in which time and travel were still to some extent associated with leisure, never with haste. He enjoyed the privilege of getting to know the most fascinating places on this earth, discovering new horizons on board the finest yachts, and meeting new challenges on a daily basis.
Like all models of the contemporary “Very Zino” Timepiece Collection, the new creation “Velero” is dedicated to the spirit of the founder of the Davidoff Luxury Group. Unique timepieces that recall the world voyagers of that era, yet are created for the globetrotters of today. For people who travel a great deal, yet are at home wherever they may be. Who live their passions, yet carry a sense of longing inside themselves. For men and women who find themselves every day at the centre of the storm, yet remain calm. Who are anchored firm as a rock within their time, yet are always one decisive “wave” ahead. The name, which has been borrowed from the Spanish, means “sail” or “sailor”. The design is sporty and elegant, and has a maritime feel – its round case being inspired by a porthole. Its unmistakable visual appeal, finest materials and Swiss craftsmanship make the “Velero” a lifelong treasure.
The “Velero” Collection for men, including a Gent Automatic and Gent Automatic Chronograph, will be available on a stainless steel bracelet or alligator strap. A perfect extension of this line has been achieved with the rugged Sports Version that is fitted with a rubber strap – ready to sail across the oceans and face new challenges. The “Velero” will help its wearer to do just that.
