For the second year running, we’re devoting our Winter cover story to the Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet collection, which is already celebrating its fifth anniversary in 2024

It has come a long way in terms of brand awareness, model variations and the number of aficionados worldwide. From the “simple” three-hand version to the incredible Ultra-Complication Universelle RD#4 launched in 2023 that just won the GPHG “Aiguille d’Or” Grand Prix, this fabulous collection already features over 40 iterations in steel, gold or sometimes associated with ceramic, constantly evolving in terms of design and mechanisms. It now appears in a new size complementing the 41 and 42mm versions. Equally appreciated by men and women, the watch returns to the forefront with twin interpretations featuring an ivory-colored or purple dial framed by a 38mmdiameter pink gold case perfectly suited to slimmer wrists.

Reducing the size of a watch without affecting its personality or intrinsic qualities is a challenge wellknown to watch enthusiasts. Highly regarded for the geometric complexity of its case and its degree of finishing at every level, the super-contemporary Code 11.59 by Audemars Piguet retains its distinctive aesthetic characteristics in this new 38mm variant. Above and beyond its octagonal case middle and extra-thin bezel, its multifaceted architecture features alternating polished and satin-brushed surfaces. The fascinating embossed dial displays the new pattern unveiled in 2023 by Audemars Piguet’s designers together with Swiss guilloché artisan Yann von Kaenel. Its decoration features hundreds of tiny cavities playing with light and color, punctuated by outward-rippling concentric waves. The show is decked out in ivory and purple shades, contrasting with the new faceted and polished hands and hourmarkers whose luminescent treatment ensures impeccable legibility.
The sapphire crystal caseback reveals the Manufacture’s latest self-winding movement with date that stands out as much for its 4mm thinness as for the refinement of its finishes. Polished angles, chamfering, Côtes de Genève, circular graining and vertical satin-brushing all magnify the components and the eye-catching pink gold rotor. Simply irresistible!
