Drawing from the legacy of Jean Schlumberger, one of the House’s most celebrated designers, with an array of dazzling and contemporary timepieces that remain true to his vision while evolving it in new directions.
Recognized as a great tastemaker during his more than two decades at Tiffany & Co., Jean Schlumberger reinterpreted the natural world with wit and whimsy. His Bird on a Rock brooch, introduced in 1965, is one of Tiffany & Co.’s most emblematic creations. Over the years, it has been reinterpreted with a variety of differently colored gemstones. A symbol of joy and optimism, the diamond-encrusted bird now perches on the dial of the Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany Bird on a Rock watches. Invisibly attached to the outer ring of the dial, which spins freely with every gesture of the wrist, the signature bird recreates the sense of movement that is characteristic of Jean Schlumberger’s indelible creations. To create the bird, a jeweler must first sculpt the gold form by hand, then set it with diamonds and a pink sapphire for the eye in a process that spans over 24 hours.

Artisans utilize both modern-day innovations and the finest time-honored jewelry craftsmanship to bring each Bird on a Rock watch to life. To enable the outer ring to rotate freely, artisans developed an inventive ball-bearing mechanism. The rings are weighted with the utmost precision to sync the movements of the bird and fish with the movement of the wrist.
At the 2025 LVMH Watch Week, Tiffany & Co. will unveil two new interpretations of the Bird on a Rock watch.
Bird on a Rock Full Pavé Diamond Watch
Presented in an 18k white gold case, the Bird on A Rock high jewelry watch is set with a total of 1,362 round brilliant diamonds of ~8.4 total carats. The 18k white gold bracelet is formed from five rows of links and set with 628 round brilliant diamonds of different sizes totaling 4,4 total carats.

The 36 mm case is set with 366 round brilliant diamonds of 2.94 total carats, and the center of the dial is snow-set with 204 round brilliant diamonds of 0.72 total carats. Snow-setting is a technique whereby round brilliant diamonds of different sizes are meticulously arranged to create a glittering expanse of light and reflection with minimal visible metal. This technique demands great skill; the case alone requires almost 55 hours of gem-setting. Complementing the diamond-set center of the dial, the outer rotating ring features 30 baguette aquamarines of over 3 total carats. The aquamarines are invisibly set to amplify their beauty and color.
Engraved with a sunburst pattern that takes inspiration from the Jean Schlumberger for Tiffany & Co. Floral Arrows brooch, the case-back is highlighted by a sprinkling of diamonds. A push button is integrated into the case-back for setting the time, which is powered by a high-precision Swiss quartz movement.

Bird on a Rock Tsavorite Watch
On the dial, creating a stunning contrast with the diamond-set central disc, are 36 baguette tsavorites of 5.4 total carats set on the rotating outer ring. Artisans applied the invisible-setting technique to maximize the beauty and intensity of the gemstone’s verdant green hue. A Tiffany & Co. legacy gemstone that the House introduced to the world in 1974. On the watch, the tsavorites’ green hue is complemented by a dark green alligator strap fastened by a diamond-set T buckle.
The bird that perches on the tsavorite ring is set with 99 round full-cut diamonds, and a pink sapphire eye. The dial is snow-set with 166 round full-cut diamonds of 1.1 total carats) and the case is snow-set with 413 round brilliant diamonds of approximately total 4 carats. Snow-setting is a technique whereby round brilliant diamonds of different sizes are meticulously arranged to create a glittering expanse of light and reflection with minimal visible metal. This technique demands great skill; the case alone requires almost 55 hours of gem-setting.
The case-back engraved with a sunburst pattern that takes inspiration from the Jean Schlumberger for Tiffany & Co. Floral Arrows brooch is highlighted by a sprinkling of diamonds. The design of the time-setting and winding crown was inspired by the Tiffany Setting® engagement ring and features a prong-set solitaire diamond of more than 0.45 carats that nods to the iconic ring’s six-prong setting.

A fine Swiss self-winding movement, Calibre LTM 2100, powers the 39mm Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany Bird on a Rock Tsavorite watch, providing a power reserve of 38 hours.
There will be limited production of the Jean Schlumberger by Tiffany timepieces each year.
