Métiers d'Art | A puzzle dial and micro-painting
The dial is a veritable miniature puzzle. The formidable and realistic cobra depicted was painted with great attention to detail by a virtuosic artist. Each SAVANNA TOURBILLON is a work of art that demands the kind of rare and valuable skills mastered only by very few craftsmen.
As for the puzzle itself, it is first assembled on four levels, which allows you to fully appreciate the interlocking play of its eighty-one pieces. To ensure an impeccable image, the craftsman must take the puzzle apart and paint the edges of each piece with the utmost precision. Then, very meticulously, he reassembles the pieces to form the dial. The SAVANNA TOURBILLON dial is a perfect illustration of how the craftsmanship and artistry of métiers d'art can be boldly elevated to new heights.
The majestic and riveting cobra immediately draws our eye thanks to the details of the micro-painting. It dominates the dial, a symbol of power and strength, radiating that particular aura of an ancient and legendary guardian against evil spirits.
Haute Horlogerie | The flying tourbillon
The flying tourbillon of the SAVANNA TOURBILLON is in an off-centre cage at 6 o'clock, where it works its magic making corrections for gravity and fascinating the viewer. It is driven by a hand-wound mechanism equipped with twin barrels installed "volte-face,” or head to tail, allowing them to release their energy simultaneously and delivering 96 hours of power reserve.
A pink-gold case as the crowning glory
This outstanding work of art is delicately framed by an 18-carat 5N rose-gold, 40-millimetre case with well-defined, flowing curves. The domed sapphire crystal, a technically challenging element to manufacture, reveals the captivating details of the puzzle and the tourbillon. The open-worked horns perfectly underscore the integration of the bracelet.
