CHF 30,000 – Audemars Piguet
Ladies first: our first example is an all-gold miniature watch for women. This 23 mm diameter jewel showcases exquisitely worked “Frosted” gold – a special hammered finish that creates a guaranteed “wow” effect. At first glance it looks like it’s set with micro-diamonds. The yellow gold dial features a Petite Tapisserie pattern, complemented by rose gold indices and luminescent yellow gold hands.
CHF 42,900 – Hublot
This watch is relatively affordable for its category, and the design is refreshingly simple for a Big Bang. As its name suggests, it displays hours, minutes, seconds and date – no complications – but its style is anything but simple. The contrast between the polished, satin-finished case in Hublot’s patented King Gold (an intense rose gold) and the satin blue dial is truly striking.
CHF 43,600 – Bulgari
From the elegant Octo Finissimo family comes an ultra-thin all-gold model that, like the Big Bang, expertly plays up the contrast between gold and blue. Its contemporary case seamlessly integrates with a sophisticated and surprisingly supple bracelet. Inside, you’ll find the thinnest calibre in its category (just 2.23 mm thick), a hand-decorated mechanical marvel with a platinum rotor.
CHF 51,000 – Patek Philippe
The first Ellipse watch on a metal bracelet is a masterpiece of complexity. Its bracelet comprises 363 elements, including over 300 manually assembled links. This supple and elegant design pays aesthetic homage to the chain bracelets of the ’70s, when the Golden Ellipse was an icon.
CHF 51,900 – Rolex
The Rolex Deepsea, the ultimate icon, remains the ambassador of a brand identity built upon Rolex’s 1926 invention of the world’s first water- and dust-resistant watch case – the Oyster. It was an immediate success, and subsequent iterations have only got better. This latest version is water-resistant to an astonishing 3,900 metres. Mounted on a three-link bracelet, its blue dial perfectly matches the ceramic bezel.
CHF 60,500 – Vacheron Constantin
This sport-chic gold watch is driven by a manufacture calibre certified with the Geneva Seal, visible through a sapphire caseback. Its versatility is enhanced by an interchangeable bracelet system, allowing the wearer to switch from gold bracelet to a leather or rubber strap, to suit any occasion.
CHF 69,800 – Chopard
Chopard’s offering is both pink, thanks to its rose gold construction, but also “green” due to its use of ethical gold. This commitment to sustainability is paired with a tribute to nature in the form of the eagle’s iris pattern embossed onto the grey dial. The movement is a chronometer-certified column-wheel chronograph with flyback function.
CHF 160,000 – Gucci
Despite Gucci’s fashion-oriented reputation, this piece is firmly in haute horlogerie territory. Crafted from recycled gold, it features an exclusive skeletonised calibre with a flying tourbillon. The watch is designed around its movement, creating an optical illusion in which the calibre appears to float above the bridges across the dial’s base.
