It was after a dive in Cannes that diver and then co-CEO Jean-Claude Fiechter had a vision of the watch that would change – and save – the lives of generations of professional swimmers. Cannes’ famous La Croisette lakeside boulevard and the translucent waters beyond it welcomed a host of journalists and VIPs to test the brand-new anniversary watch in reallife conditions. Collectors will recognize at a glance the codes of the 1957 MIL-SPEC, whose reliability and innovations were so highly prized by the armed forces at the time, starting with its moisture indicator. The 2023 vintage is distinguished by its patented 9K Bronze Gold case, its NATO strap made from recycled fishing nets and above all by its in-house caliber. It features a double barrel providing a 100h power reserve as well as an antimagnetic silicon balance spring, all housed for the first time in a 1000 gauss version and with an escapement made from an exclusive alloy. The contemporary decoration can be admired through the caseback bearing the limitededition number of this 555-piece series.
The editorial team was impressed by the clever blend of retro and modern touches in the design and the movement, both exuding an aura of seduction and confidence.
