Eterna is celebrating its 160th anniversary this year and in 2015, under the aegis of its new CEO, has undertaken a reorientation process that includes giving the brand a more feminine face. The cornerstone of the Grenchen-based company, its KonTiki collection – named after Thor Heyerdahl’s raft built for his famous 1947 expedition and itself bearing the name of the Inca Sun God – is therefore surfing the feminine wave and offering – for the first time in 23 years – a number of new ladies’ models featuring redesigned shapes. After the sporty Lady KonTiki Diver unveiled last spring, here come the more classic Lady KonTiki watches, yet still imbued with the same pioneering spirit as their predecessors.
Women who appreciate the magic of a mechanical movement will opt for the self-winding two-tone model, or the steel version, with a white strap for a modern look. Graced with a luminous mother-of-pearl dial bearing four contemporary Roman numerals and seven diamond hour-markers, the two versions display the date at 4 o’clock. Those with a preference for technical simplicity will opt for one of the quartz variations with 6 o’clock small seconds that round off this new Lady KonTiki line.
