With its styling inspired by historical Patek Philippe aviator models, its practical Travel Time function and its date indication indexed to local time, the Calatrava Pilot Travel Time has established itself as an original, practical travel watch with an assertive personality. Launched in 2015 in a white gold case framing a blue dial (5524G-001), it was interpreted in 2018 in a rose gold version enhanced by a brown dial with black-gradient rim (5524R-001).
Patek Philippe reinterprets the white gold version with an elegant ivory lacquered dial. Reflects its aeronautical inspiration, the legibility of this dial is enhanced by blackened white gold applied numerals filled with luminescent coating, as well as by large sword-type hands that are also visible in the dark.
Self-winding 26-330 S C FUS caliber is distinguished by its easyto-use Travel Time display system. Simply pressing one of the two pushers on the left-hand side of the case serves to move the local-time (solid) hour hand forwards (lower pusher) or backwards (upper pusher) in one-hour increments, without any loss of precision. Meanwhile, the skeletonized hand continues to display home time. Both time zones feature day/night indicators (through apertures at 9 and 3 o'clock). The date displayed by hand at 6 o'clock automatically adjusts to local time, whether forwards and backwards. The two time-zone pushers feature a patented safety system designed to prevent accidental setting of local time.
The khaki green composite-material strap with fabric pattern is fitted with a white gold clevis prong buckle inspired by the harnesses used by aviators to attach their emergency kit. It lends this timepiece an extra touch of casual, urban elegance.
The new Calatrava Pilot Travel Time Reference 5524G-010 replaces white gold Reference 5524G-001 in the collection, joining rose gold Reference 5524R-001.
