Eberhard & Co. treated visitors to this year's Watches and Wonders to not one but two magnificent vintage-inflected Chronographe 1887 models, including a limited edition of 250 pieces

For Eberhard & Co., 2024 is the year of the chronograph with two new models joining its 1887 collection. Named for the year the brand was founded, this collection was introduced in 2019 in honour of the company's more than century-long expertise and features watches that are systematically equipped with exclusive movements.

Accordingly, the Chronographe 1887 Limited Edition Ref. 31081 is powered by a manual-winding movement while the Chronographe 1887 Ref. 31082 is fitted with an automatic movement. Visible through the sapphire case back, both these exceptional calibres incorporate a column wheel for the chronograph and offer a flyback function.

Distinctive details recall historic Eberhard & Co. chronographs, such as the vintage design of the waterproof crown, the coaxial pusher bearing a letter "E" in relief, the sinuous lines of the stainless steel case, the different styles of the two chronograph counter hands, and the refinement of the dials, complete with a spiral tachymeter scale in the centre and a peripheral telemeter scale. Any resemblance between these two highly desirable new releases and 1930s and 1940s chronos displayed at the Eberhard & Co. museum in La Chaux-de-Fonds is entirely intentional.
