This new creation by Czapek truly lives up to its name. Promenade Plissée, like an ode to a journey into the heart of a haute couture workshop where pleating reigns supreme… Its dial, created using an innovative stamping technique developed in partnership with Metalem, Czapek’s historic partner, is indeed inspired by the movement of a dress, by fashion in general, whose volumes play with light to create illusions of movement… As if an elegant woman were launching herself into the magical frenzy of a grand ball.
The Promenade Plissée is simply chic, refined, and contemporary. A gender-neutral watch powered by a high-watchmaking caliber, designed for those who love beautiful things, fashion, couture, and exceptional mechanics. “We have always believed that gender divisions in watchmaking are largely artificial,” says Xavier de Roquemaurel, CEO of Czapek & Cie. “Beauty and creativity unite men and women; the making of a beautiful watch cannot be reduced to a gender division. A beautiful watch will appeal equally to men and women, just as a well-tailored tuxedo is just as elegant whether worn by a man or a woman.”
It must be said that the Promenade Plissée seems flawless… On the agenda: a round polished steel case with a unisex diameter of 37 mm. Aesthetically speaking, it represents a modern evolution of Czapek’s iconic model, the historic Quai des Bergues line, recognizable by its sculpted sides, crown guard, and its characteristic, thin, and rounded bezel. But that’s not all—it also features a discreet, tone-on-tone small seconds positioned in an original way at 4:30, and a choice of either a stitched leather strap or a Milanese steel mesh bracelet, both extremely comfortable, like a second skin. Naturally, the watch is powered by an in-house self-winding movement. The well-respected SXH5 caliber is known for its high-performance micro-rotor, equipped with a recycled platinum oscillating weight, offering a power reserve of over 60 hours—nearly three days. And let’s not forget the “pleated” dial, available in three colors. White, like Marilyn Monroe’s chic and sexy pleated dress in The Seven-Year Itch, with its futuristic folds; ivory, like the lightweight silks of Issey Miyake, blending couture tradition with high technology for both men and women; and black, like Yves Saint Laurent’s eternally modern tuxedo, created in 1966, the historical pioneer of the androgynous style. A dial with minimal time indicators, featuring fine, semi-skeletonized central arrow-shaped hands and twelve applied indexes, whose angles are cut like diamonds to reflect the light.

The new Promenade Plissée by Czapek establishes itself as a new must-have for which patience will be required. Deliveries will begin in the first quarter of 2026 at a price of CHF 16,000.
