Happy Sport is a timepiece for women who take confident strides forwards to embrace their destiny. With its irrepressible dynamism, this Chopard watchmaking icon has been staging a mesmerising show since 1993, thanks to the mischievous choreography of the Maison’s legendary dancing diamonds. Season after season, the collection is reinvented with a fresh spectrum of colours, highlighting its playful essence and confirming its perpetual celebration of Joie de Vivre. This new 25-piece limited edition is embellished with a lilac-toned lepidolite dial enlivened by the sparkling performance of the dancing diamonds. Epitomising the workshops' ability to combine watchmaking excellence with the art of jewellery-making, this model in ethical 18-carat rose gold comes in a 33 mm-diameter case designed by the Manufacture according to the principles of harmony defined by the golden ratio and beats to the rhythm of the Chopard 09.01-C self-winding movement.
A softly feminine lilac backdrop
One look at the Happy Sport timepiece and you’ll see a lively mirror of your own energy, picked up in the ballet of dancing diamonds representing a wonderful game of random chance and kinetic energy, now played out on a dial in lepidolite. Symbolising serenity and calm, this fine natural stone features a distinctive scaly texture creating a magnificent spectrum of lilac, mauve, purple and plum shades. This rich chromatic theme continues with the amethyst set in the crown and the ultra-feminine lilac strap in glossy alligator leather.
Through this new timepiece, Chopard showcases its virtuoso expertise in the creation of fine stone dials. Since the late 1960s, the Maison’s workshops have pursued this trend by using the natural colours of stones such as malachite, opal or tiger's eye. While many of the Maison’s models testify to this legacy, this is the first time that fine stone dial expertise has been deployed in the Happy Sport collection. The use of lepidolite is also an innovation in the crafting of the Manufacture's fine stone dials across all its collections, clearly demonstrating the dynamism of its Artisans who are always on the lookout for exceptional new materials.
Mechanical performance
Adapting the golden ratio to the diameter of the Chopard 09.01-C self-winding movement powering its ladies’ watch collections means that the round, gently curved and all-embracing proportions of this Happy Sport 33 mm are particularly well suited to feminine wrists. Fitted with a 42-hour power reserve, this timepiece beats to the tune of a calibre entirely developed, produced and assembled in the Maison's watchmaking workshops. Its precision makes it the best possible ally for women with fast-paced lifestyles, who make every minute a precious moment. A perfect example of horological performance and jewellery design equally mastered by the Manufacture, Happy Sport showcases its artisans’ virtuosity.
A creation in ethical gold
More than just a precious metal, gold is the standard-bearer of a commitment: that of the values perpetuated by Chopard, a family-run Maison passed down from generation to generation. Since 2018, Chopard has been a pioneer in sustainable luxury by undertaking to use 100% ethical gold in producing its watches and jewellery. Within this splendid theatre built on ethical and responsible foundations, the actors are ready to take to the stage: enter the dancing diamonds.
