As precious as ever, but with completely redesigned proportions. And for the first time, it comes with a steel bracelet to enhance its sporty-chic character. For all women who have a passion for micromechanics but want to assert their femininity.

The Turbine is undoubtedly Perrelet's most famous collection, appreciated for its countless lower-dial variations, which give the watches ever new visual effects and demonstrate the extraordinary creativity of the Perrelet designers.

After more than 10 years, the Turbine Lady collection is back, alongside the most famous and numerous men's models, interpreting the icon of the historic Manufacture in a more precious and feminine key. When the famous Turbine swings, it reveals a lower-dial set with genuine diamonds that shine like sunrays.

Today, Turbine Lady offers three brand new models, developed in eight references characterised by dominant colours and refined finishes. Welcome to the Turbine Lady Frost in white, the Turbine Lady Eclipse in black and the Turbine Lady Aurora in rainbow shades. Revamped in terms of aesthetics and dimensions, these timepieces are dedicated to women in search of timepieces with an original style and a sophisticated mechanics.

A stylish habillage

Previously available with a diameter of 38 or 41 mm, the Turbine Lady range is now proposed in a smaller size of 37 mm, which will gracefully fit the wrists of all women, from the largest to the slimmest. The round case is made of stainless steel, also treated with black PVD coating. Compared to its predecessors, it now features a flat bezel and a prominent crown, personalised by the letter 'P' in the logo.  The fluted and sandblasted case back and the long, curved, polished and brushed lugs are in keeping with tradition.

In the Turbine Lady Aurora, the most precious version, the bezel is set with 56 multi-coloured zircons arranged in a rainbow effect. The finishes are exquisite, alternating between polished and satin-brushed surfaces, allowing the light to play with the different reflections. Each model is available with a strap or with a metal bracelet. As in the past, the Turbine Lady can be worn with a soft rubber strap in either white or black, secured with a pin buckle or with a folding clasp upon request. Alternatively, and for the first time, it can be worn with an integrated steel bracelet with an unprecedented three-row design and butterfly clasp. Thin and flexible, it enhances the refined look of the watch, making it both a sporty and chic piece of jewellery that can be used daily, from morning to evening, to complement any outfit.

An unmistakable “watch face”

The most outstanding feature of the display, protected by a sapphire crystal glass, is of course the Turbine with its white or black anodised aluminium blades, each of which has a sandblasted profile.  This device, which rotates at the slightest gesture of the wrist, intermittently reveals the diamonds set on the lower-dial: 60 precious stones, lined up in twelve oblique rows that echo the whirling motion of the turbine and illuminate the whole of the watch with their sparkling brilliance.

As always, the slanted hour track is marked by the raised baton hour markers, partly suspended on the turbine and alternating with Roman numerals. This is a new stylistic choice, as previous creations used Arabic numerals. White and luminescent on the Turbine Lady Frost and Turbine Lady Eclipse, they are coloured on the Turbine Lady Aurora, with the same gradations as the bezel. At the centre are the dagger-shaped hour/minute hands, coated with white Super-LumiNova® to ensure excellent legibility in the dark. Rhodium-plated edges for the hands on the white dials and trimmed in grey on the black displays. Same hues for the central seconds hands.

Exclusive technology

Patented in 2009, the turbine is clearly inspired by the propellers of aircraft and ships. It has quickly become the identifying signature of this prestigious Manufacture, founded in 1777, as well as the distinguishing feature of its eponymous collection. Thanks to the rotation induced by the slightest gesture, the Turbine reveals the motif reproduced on the sub-dial, each time different in the many lines that make up the Turbine family. The variety of themes and decorations is a tangible demonstration of the inexhaustible inventiveness of the company's designers.

Although the Turbine has a purely aesthetic function, it involves a complex construction. It requires five tungsten counterweights placed underneath the anodised aluminium blades to allow this component to move quickly, slow down and return to its resting position. It is a very sophisticated element that will only perform properly if it is assembled with the utmost care and attention. This device is yet another example of the exceptional expertise of the master watchmakers working in the Perrelet workshops.

A precise and reliable calibre

The new Turbine Lady is driven by the same movement that powers other Perrelet watch families: the P-331-MH calibre. Designed and developed entirely in-house, it is manufactured by the sister company Soprod, owned by the Spanish entrepreneur Miguel Rodriguez, the same owner of Perrelet. Self-winding, it guarantees a 42-hour power reserve and is equipped with a balance that beats at 28,800 vibrations per hour (4 Hz).

Today, this “engine” is renowned among micromechanics aficionados for its proven performance regarding precision and reliability. This calibre is doubly certified by two prestigious independent institutes: the official chronometer certification from the COSC (Contrôle Officiel Suisse des Chronomètres) and the Chronofiable® certification issued by the Laboratoire Dubois of La Chaux-de-Fonds, whose tests accelerate the ageing process of a watch and simulate the effects of six months' use over a three-week period.

The P-331-MH calibre is distinguished not only by its constant running and long-term functionality, but also by its impeccable finish: the main plate is decorated with colimaçon, the bridges with circular-graining, and the oscillating weight - openworked, rhodium-plated and brushed - is customised with the Perrelet logo. Superb executions that meet the highest standards of Swiss watchmaking and can be appreciated through the sapphire crystal porthole on the caseback.
