The new Turbine Pink Flamingo, with its warm shade of pink, exudes a playful and exotic charm reminiscent of the vibrant feathers of flamingos, is the latest addition to Perrelet's Turbine Titanium 41 collection

Creativity, daring and innovation are core principles at Perrelet. Ever on the lookout for contemporary trends to enrich its iconic Turbine collection, Perrelet always sustains the high quality and reliability of the in-house mechanical movements that power its timepiece, as well as the excellence of its finishes.

After having released the first edition of the Turbine Titanium 41 in summer 2023, featuring a case with a new diameter of 41 mm (i.e. a smaller diameter than the traditional 44 mm to 47-48 mm of some previous collections), the Bienne-based Maison now welcomes a creation which embraces the brands design’s codeand extend this family, which has enjoyed great success since its first appearance in 2009.   The Turbine Pink Flamingo is born, and as the name suggests, it is decked out in an exotic and intriguing shade of pink!

A STYLE WITH A DISRUPTIVE AND BOLD IDENTITY

The case: a successful design of a proven comfort

The Turbine Pink Flamingo case echoes the aesthetics of the Turbine EVO, the second-generation Turbine launched in 2019. While remaining true to its origins, this new round case has been given a more contemporary design. Crafted in black DLC grade 2 titanium with a matt finish and water-resistant to 10 atm, it features a flat bezel, a prominent crown fluted and flared for easy grip and adorned with the brand's logo. The new geometric lugs perfectly integrate the pink flamingo rubber strap, which fastens with a pin buckle. The case band retains the hallmark vertical grooves that extend almost like a continuous line across the ring that secures the sapphire crystal to the caseback. With a diameter of 41 mm and a thickness of 13.9 mm, the case is comfortable even for smaller wrists. This is also due to its ergonomic design and the lightness of the material used.

An eye-catching dial with the legendary Turbine

The Turbine Pink Flamingo is a time-only model with central hour, minute and seconds hands. Its complex dial comprises threekey elements that set Perrelet timepieces apart on the watchmaking panorama: thesub-dial with ever-changing motifs, the distinctive 12-blade turbine and the characteristic hour track with a mix of raised hour markers and Arabic numerals filled with white Super-LumiNova® for easier reading in low-light conditions. All protected by an anti-reflective sapphire crystal.

The star of this new timepiece is its lower dial depicted with a pink flamingo turbine, a vibrant and lively hue often associated with tropical environments and festive atmospheres, which stands out against a black background. A tint whose origins can be traced back to the natural pigmentation of flamingos, derived from their diet of shrimp. And it is an intense, vivid colour that pervades the elegant, retro-futuristic 1980s aesthetics of the city of Miami in Florida, from which Perrelet drew inspiration for the new Turbine Pink Flamingo.  A city with a unique atmosphere, where tropical climate, Latin temperament and the American dream come together in pure “Miami Vice” vibes. A place where it is always summer and people live life to the full. Just think of the colourful cabriolets speeding through the streets, the numerous parties, the palm trees against the pink and blue sunsets, the pastel clothes and the nightlife between luxury and vice underworld. A mix that creates an electrifying, dreamlike atmosphere that allows you to escape from the daily grind.

Pink Flamingo proves to be an evergreen and modern shade, perfect for adding a touch of whimsy and energy to this latest addition in the Turbine range, which has always stood out for its disruptive and unconventional design.

As ever, the legendary Turbine, inspired by aeronautical propellers, fully accomplishes its task by offering the wearer an intriguing “see-through” effect as it rotates. Indeed, the faster the Turbine spins, the more the leitmotif of the sub-dial materialises in its entirety, offering fascinating and playful optical effects.

THE IN-HOUSE P-331-MH CALIBRE: CERTIFIED RELIABILITY AND PRECISION

At the heart of the Turbine Pink Flamingobeats the in-house manufactured self-winding P-331-MH calibre, whose excellent precision and reliability are guaranteed by the COSC and Chronofiable® certifications obtained after undergoing an intensive series of tests. Its regulating organ operates at 28,800 vibrations per hour and the single barrel provides a power reserve that allows the watch to run for 42 hours when not worn.

The movement has been developed by SOPROD, a sister company of the Festina Group with no less than six production sites, owned by Miguel Rodriguez, which also manufactures all Perrelet watches.

Perrelet also pays great attention to finishing in respect of the standards of the high-end Swiss watchmaking art.
The finely finished movement is visible through the sapphire crystal porthole on the case back which allows the owner to admire the precious circular graining decoration on the bridges and the exquisite open-worked and rhodium-plated oscillating weight, mounted on ball bearings and embellished with the Maison's logo.
