Out on the Léman with HYT’s Vahe Vartzbed

WorldTempus talks with HYT’s CEO Vahe Vartzbed about his direction for the independent watch brand

Vahe Vartzbed joined HYT over a year ago in August 2023. Now over 12 months at the head of this small independent brand, he talks to WorldTempus about his plans for the brand for the future. On his wrist is a timepiece from HYT’s latest T1 Millésime capsule collection that was just launched at Geneva Watch Days.

Housed in a 45mm titanium case – the smallest the brand has ever made – this timepiece features an eye-catching purple dial, which Vartzbed has paired with a white strap for our nautical adventures on the lake! This is perhaps the most discreet HYT produced to date with its vertically brushed dial, elegant numerals, and faceted hour hand. The fun side of the watch

is still very much present, however, with the famous fluid time display indicating the minutes in a glass capillary tube on the dial.

There are three models to choose from in this capsule collection – a titanium version with a purple or green dial and a red gold and titanium model with a chocolate dial. Named T1 Millésime, the T stands for “tradition” and the “millésime” ties into the French word for a wine when it is an exceptional year. As these wines are limited by season, so will HYT’s capsule collections, running during specific dates and not by numbers. So, if you are reading this between September 2024 and April 2025, luck is with you! Discover more in the video below.
