Editorial – Why is No One in the WorldTempus Office This Week?
Some of you might have been wondering why no one from the team was at the office this week, and the answer is surprisingly simple: it was WorldTempus on Tour time! We relocated to the Scottish Highlands this past week, with the sole purpose of creating content like you have never seen before. Read on to discover all of our adventures in the wintery Highlands.

L.U.C XPS and Tartan: The Right Match!
To kick off the week, we headed to Glasgow in search of tartan, the famous checkered wool fabric that the Scottish people are famous for. We had the pleasure of chatting with tartan specialists at Macgregor and MacDuff about the history of the fabric, and gave them the mission of pairing one with the Chopard L.U.C XPS watch our editor Marie de Pimodan was wearing that day. Click here to discover whether it was a good match!

The Treasure Hunt
You are going to want to take out your biggest television screen, a bag of popcorn, and a few tissues for this next one. To give you context, we felt particularly inspired by the castle we were staying in, the countless stories embedded in its walls, and the fact that we had a beautiful Chopard Happy Sport packed in our bags. So, naturally, we simply had to shoot a short film, about a treasure hunt through time and space, where our heroine rediscovers a legacy. I will not say anymore, as I don’t want to spoil anything! Head on over here to watch it in full.

Watches To Savour
Next up, we drove to Aberfeld for a whisky distillery guided tour. What was supposed to be an hour-long tour, discussions and whisky tasting turned into a daylong full-blown photoshoot session. But to be fair, what else could one expect from the mix of three beautiful Chopard watches, a couple of glasses of fine Scotch whisky and the talented British photographer, Andy Barnham (who joined us for the week)? As Marie pointed out: “Stir them together and you have the perfect blend of savoir-faire, aesthetic excellence and gustatory pleasure”.

The Razzle and the Dazzle of the Alpine Eagle
Among the fine selection of Chopard watches that we were lucky to have packed along for our trip to Scotland was the Alpine Eagle Summit Pink Dawn (photographed above). A delightful rose gold model gem set with vivid orange spessartines that we all swooned over. So, as some of us were fighting over it, we were delighted to hear there were three other timepieces in the collection (one of which is pictured below), to discover the others, click here.

A Journey Through Architecture and Watchmaking
While most of the team stayed at the castle, finishing up their articles and editing videos, our editor-in-chief Suzanne Wong headed down to Glasgow again. I know what you are going to say: twice in one week? But please hear me out, folks. There was still so much for us to discover! So, to make sure to capture it all for the rest of us to enjoy, she brought Andy Barnham and her trusty Leica ZM 11 along, and found fascinating parallels between horology and architecture.

Building With Light
In case you hadn’t noticed, we over here at WorldTempus love Leica. And during this trip, Suzanne simply couldn’t get enough of the ZM 11. In this piece, she writes us about how she first heard about the brand, about her first encounter with the timepiece at the Manufacture in Wetzlar, Germany and the fascinating links between photography and architecture.

Scottish Castle Nights
While the days were packed with fun adventures, evenings at the castle were also definitely a highlight. The team would gather around and play board games late into the night and organized games of dominos, table football, backgammon and Scrabble. The Glashütte Original SeaQ Panorama Date and Senator Excellence Panorama Date Moon Phase were dying to join the fun, so we obliged.

If You Are Looking for One Watch, Just the One
Not everyone is a watch collector, most people just need one watch, but that makes the choice even harder. So, to try and solve this problem, we took the Glashütte Original SeaQ Panorama Date out for a spin all the way to Ben Gulabin, for a Munro Bagging expedition. We passed it around to get everyone’s opinion. And, to make a long story short, it was a resounding success! You can catch all of the reviews here.

Team Tests
And last but not least, we have our Team tests of the week. The team had the pleasure of passing exceptional timepieces around this week and simply couldn’t decide which one they liked most! Maybe you will have an easier time than us deciding, if you check out our reviews of the Chopard Alpine Eagle 41, the Kross Studio Game Of Thrones Rhaegal Central Floating Tourbillon, the Leica ZM11 and the Glashütte Original Senator Excellence Panorama Date Moon Phase.
