Press release
Alive with the sounds of acoustic rock, the event fits perfectly into Parmigiani's current strategy of musical partnerships which already takes in a wide range of national and international events.
At an altitude of 1620 metres, Parmigiani Fleurier was in the company of some legendary pop artists. The festival's bill included performers such as Seal, Roger Hodgson (formerly of Supertramp) and David Gray, supported for the second time by the watch brand, one of the event's main partners. This intimate event with its high-quality line-up, coupled with the enchanting surroundings of Zermatt, represents a rare opportunity for the haute horlogerie brand to invite customers and media guests to a unique kind of artistic experience in Europe.
Jean-Marc Jacot, CEO of Parmigiani Fleurier: "The Zermatt Unplugged Festival offers our customers and the public alike an ideal environment. An exceptional view dominated by the most legendary of Swiss mountains, the Matterhorn, a uniquely welcoming atmosphere, a festival which is both internationally renowned and laid-back, and high-quality yet intimate musical performances. A veritable distillation of the best Swiss expertise, in short!".
The 2011 edition lived up to all its promises, with no shortage of excitement. The brilliant performance by Seal on the festival's big stage on Wednesday 13 April will go down in the annals of the event for years to come. He wowed the audience with a highly personal version of his finest hits, alternating with electrifying blasts of pop.
Afterwards, the guests invited by Parmigiani had the privilege of dining in the company of Seal and Frida from the legendary group ABBA. Organised on a one-off basis in the workshop of Heinz Julen, an extraordinary Valais artist renowned both for his creative talents and his original accommodation concepts, the Parmigiani after-concert cocktail party gave the fifty guests a chance to really get to know the performers in attendance.
