Video – Montblanc’s 0 Oxygen: Watchmaking at the Edge of the World
Montblanc has launched a pioneering concept with its “0 Oxygen” timepieces—mechanical watches devoid of any oxygen inside. Born from a conversation between Montblanc CEO Laurent Lecamp and mountaineer Reinhold Messner, the idea was as bold as the environments it was made for.
Replacing oxygen with nitrogen not only prevents fogging during extreme temperature changes but also significantly slows down oxidation, preserving the movement’s lifespan. As Lecamp notes, “It is better for the movement, for the oils, for everything.”
Put to the test in Antarctica, the Montblanc 1858 Geosphere 0 Oxygen model performed flawlessly during a marathon at minus 30°C. This bold innovation explores new paths for durability and mechanical longevity.

Ressence Type 7: A Revolutionary Journey Beyond Traditional Watchmaking
Ressence’s latest innovation, the Type 7, invites wearers into a futuristic interaction with time. Featuring an oil-filled dial that eliminates glare and enhances depth, the watch creates an almost holographic illusion. It’s more than aesthetic—this design challenges how we perceive time altogether.
Crafted entirely from titanium with a second time zone and oil temperature gauge, the Type 7 is not only functional but exceptionally comfortable. Camille from the WorldTempus team praised its "flexible bracelet, perfectly in tune with the times." The orbital subdial layout, likened to a "miniature solar system" by Bertie, rotates seamlessly, adding hypnotic dynamism. To Yannick, the second 24-hour time display was a call to adventure.
Color-wise, the dial shifts between Yale blue and sapphire depending on lighting—James and Mathieu were equally impressed by this shape-shifting brilliance. Ultimately, as Mathieu summarized, “The Type 7 is a model that redefines the experience of watchmaking.”

Richard Mille RM 75-01 Sapphire: Sculpture in Motion
Richard Mille continues to push artistic boundaries with the RM 75-01 Flying Tourbillon Sapphire. Designed as a mechanical sculpture, the timepiece showcases a skeletonized movement within a meticulously carved sapphire case—each taking over 1,000 hours to produce.
Three variations echo oceanic inspiration: clear, sea-green, and soft pink hues, each evoking seascapes at different times of day. The transparent case reveals gothic arches, a flying tourbillon, and red gold pillars, merging engineering with artistry.
Its complexity lies not only in its mechanics but in the material itself—colored sapphire requires unmatched precision. The RM 75-01 represents Richard Mille’s ongoing dialogue between technology and visual storytelling.

Louis Vuitton Tambour Bushido: Honoring the Samurai Code
Louis Vuitton’s latest haute horlogerie creation, the Tambour Bushido Automata, is a powerful homage to Japan’s samurai heritage. When activated, the watch comes alive in a 16-second animation: the Samurai’s mask transforms, a katana blade sweeps to show minutes, and a fierce visage emerges.
Driven by the LV 525 calibre with 426 components, the watch is also a canvas for craftsmanship. Over 250 hours of engraving and enamelwork depict Samurai iconography, including a dramatic Mount Fuji scene etched onto the case.
With its technical prowess and narrative strength, the Tambour Bushido isn't just a watch—it’s a philosophical tribute to loyalty, discipline, and courage.

Motorsport Madness at Watches & Wonders 2025
This year’s Watches & Wonders turned into a celebration of motorsport culture. TAG Heuer’s booth stunned with the iconic McLaren MP4/4 and a Red Bull Racing replica, highlighting the launch of its Formula 1 Solargraph series. Meanwhile, IWC teamed up with Apple Original Films to showcase F1 film props, including a “crashed” car equipped with real camera gear.

Tudor added a hands-on twist with a pit stop wheel-change challenge, while TAG Heuer's Monaco racing simulator drew crowds eager to test their speed. Across the fair, the intersection of racing and horology became more than metaphor—it was a shared obsession with precision, speed, and excellence.
