I am in a spending mood today as our Editor-in-Chief Sophie Furley has given me 10,000 fictive Swiss Francs (USD 11,200) to go watch shopping. So here is my selection of possibilities…if only it were true!
I have to start with my favorite brand, Rolex. In my humble opinion, the 35mm Yacht-Master – aka the posher and more sophisticated sibling of the Submariner – is just what you need if you want style and functionality.
The first Yacht-Master was a bulky 40mm sports watch that really only resonated with men. So, in 1999, this “queen” was launched. Made in Rolex’s patented Rolesium metal (a combination of stainless steel and platinum), this watch will last forever, with the Oyster bracelet adding the cherry on top.
Whether you are dressing up with a lovely suit and heels or dressing down with a pair of jeans and a T-shirt, this watch will always be a good addition to your outfit. And at around CHF 7’000, I really respected the budget here.

Audemars Piguet Royal Oak Lady 6007ST
I am currently having real trouble resisting the smaller Royal Oaks and Audemars Piguet is not making it any easier by releasing their new 23mm frosted gold models. But if I want to stay within the budget, the new babies are not an option.
I am not 100% certain of the Fantasy Shopping rules, but I had a little peak into the vintage world and you can find 26mm steel Royal Oaks for under 10,000 CHF. This model dates back to the late 1970s, when the Royal Oak Lady was introduced to fit smaller wrists. It features all the iconic design codes of the original, including an octagonal bezel, integrated bracelet, exposed screws, and Tapisserie dial; it was just scaled down to be more elegant and discrete.
It is a very IYKYK (aka if you know, you know) type of watch. Like having Loro Piana white soles or a Missoni bikini. Some people will resonate with the vibe, some will not even know what I am talking about!

Cartier Santos de Cartier WSSA0071
Although it is not the two-tone Daytona worn by Matilda Djerf and @mimiarr, I still wanted to lean toward a chunkier watch.
For a little over CHF 7,000, I can buy myself a gorgeous 40mm steel Santos de Cartier with a graduated blue dial and blue alligator strap. If you prefer steel bracelets over leather straps, Cartier has got you covered with its interchangeable system.
Get me biker shorts, a sweatshirt, and a pair of sneakers, and I might just be the new Princess Diana with this watch.

With the heavy influence of Sofia Richie and a girl from my university, I have also chosen Bulgari’s Serpenti Tubogas, which is out of this world. As we all know that diamonds are a girl’s best friend, I made sure I found a version that includes some sparkle. So, for the fine price of CHF 9,350, this Tubogas has a steel case and bracelet, a diamond-set bezel, and a silver opaline dial.
Look out for me at the next Abu Dhabi GP wearing it and making F1 wags jealous (in our fantasy world, of course)!

Well, this was a fun article. Next time, let’s up the budget and splurge even more!
