Inside Bulgari's Swiss Watch Empire

Bulgari’s history is firmly rooted in Rome, but for the last 34 years the company has been building its watchmaking operations in Switzerland

Bulgari has three major horological sites located in Neuchâtel, Le Sentier, and Saignelégier. The headquarters in Neuchâtel houses the design studio, the technical department, and the assembly workshops, serving as the heart of operations.

In Le Sentier, located in Switzerland’s Vallée de Joux, Bulgari concentrates on the creation of its horological movements. This includes the miniature Piccolissimo calibre BVL100, containing 102 parts and weighing 1.3 grams, as well as minute repeaters, tourbillons, grand sonneries, and Finissimo watches.

Saignelégier’s newly renovated site is dedicated to case and dial production. Having case and dials produced in the same facility creates many synergies and improves production flexibility. The site can create large and small series of dials and cases for limited editions and/or prototypes. The company works with materials including steel, aluminium, titanium, gold, platinum, bronze, ceramic, and carbon.

The métiers d’art department in Saignelégier is where you will find the Maison’s artisans working on artistic dials with hard stone marquetry, peacock feather marquetry, micro painting and gem seeing.

Thanks to these three sites, Bulgari’s watch manufacturing is in full expansion with vertical production allowing creative freedom to produce timepieces that never fail to surprise and delight watch enthusiasts.
