Inside Kross Studio

Kross Studio has a unique approach to watchmaking that combines high-end craftsmanship with film and television collaborations. Founded in 2020 and based in Gland, Switzerland, the studio has quickly gained recognition for its innovative designs and in-house manufacturing capabilities. During a recent guided tour, the WorldTempus team explored the magic behind their creations.

In-House Manufacturing Excellence

Starting in the middle of the action in the CNC milling department, the team saw where all the components for Kross Studio’s watches are meticulously crafted, including main plates, bridges, steel parts, titanium cases, and even buckles. By producing everything in-house, this independent brand maintains complete control over quality and is flexible to do small series and one-of-a-kind pieces.

The Iconic Central Flying Tourbillon

At the heart of Kross Studio's timepieces is its patented floating central tourbillon movement. Originally conceived to accommodate an oversized barrel for an extended power reserve of 120 hours, this design places the tourbillon at the centre of the watch. The result is a visually stunning mechanism that appears to float above the movement, offering an unobstructed view from any angle.

Collaborations with Pop Culture Icons

It is not only the mechanics that make Kross Studio interesting, however, each timepiece is connected to the world of entertainment through collaborations with major franchises like Star Wars, Batman, Game of Thrones, and Wonder Woman. These partnerships go beyond mere branding with each timepiece being paired with a functional art piece or collector's set inspired by its respective universe.

As Kross Studio approaches its fifth anniversary in 2025, it is set to participate in Watches & Wonders Geneva for the first time and has teased an exciting collaboration with Warner Bros. centered around Harry Potter. Stay tuned to WorldTempus for more in the coming year.
