The Bee of Great Depths

Gucci, the quintessential Italian luxury house, began diving into the underwater world in 2013

At the time, the brand presented a certified diver’s watch, powered by a Sowind caliber (its then sister company within the Kering Group). This new Gucci Dive collection was subsequently ’democratized’ by appearing in the catalog as of 2015, in both quartz and mechanical versions. Combining style, originality and sportiness, Gucci has made it an unexpected field of expression for its powerful symbols. Snakes, feline heads and bees have all found their place on this highly technical watch. Even more powerful and robust, the new Gucci Dive, equipped with a self-winding caliber and water-resistant to 300 meters, is forged in steel with a ceramic or steel bezel disk. This time, the bee is positioned at 12 o’clock, surrounded by faceted diamond-shaped hour-markers enhanced with white Super-LumiNova.

The editorial tream was impressed by Gucci’s ability to draw on its codes and symbols – in this case the bee – for inspirational and distinctive creations.
