Five Instagram watch accounts to follow, recommended by @perpetual.girl

Watch in flight, Collector

What's to love?

At the Geneva Watch Days GMT party, I had the opportunity to chat with a French Air Force officer who prefers to remain anonymous. What brought him there? His passion for watchmaking, of course. Friend of the brand, Urwerk invited him to accompany the team to our event.

Why follow?

Launched barely a year ago, his @watchinflight account already has over 14,000 followers, obtained organically. This shows watch lovers' interest in other sectors such as aeronautics. Engineering and the quest for precision and performance are common threads between these two sectors. All aboard this account!

@crazykirbyh, a collector worth following

Hannah began her collection ten years ago after receiving a pink gold Cartier Ballon Bleu as a gift from her husband. From then on, she began collecting vintage diamond-set cocktail watches, which she wore "stacked" like bracelets. Three years ago, she found a Piaget malachite cuff watch online. She immediately fell in love with watches featuring ornamental stone dials - mostly by Piaget and sometimes from other brands - that she has been collecting ever since. The first thing she looks at is the design; the complication of a watch movement is of little importance to her. The same goes for gem-setting: she likes gem-set watches only when that aspect is an integral part of a model's overall design. Warm thanks to Hannah for sharing her incredible collection with us in her first-ever media foray.

Dimitri Rybaltchenko, Artist

What's to love?

Can artistic gifts be passed on? Such is the case for the Rybaltchenko family, famous for their Hermès silk scarf designs. Dimitri has inherited the talent of his father Vladimir, himself the nephew of Philippe Ledoux, the first designer of these famous "Carré" scarves from 1947 onwards.

Why follow?

Designed by Philippe Delhotal, the Slim d'Hermès watch has appeared in a variety of versions. The Flagship and Minuit au Faubourg themes are each derived from the scarves designed by Dimitri. Some of his works were presented to the public in Zurich in November - alongside various artisanal métiers exercised within the Maison - as part of the 'Hermès in the Making' exhibition.

Roni Madhvani, Collector

What's to love?

Can one be considered a great collector when it becomes impossible to keep track of the number of timepieces in a personal collection? Whatever the case, Roni daily enjoys sharing photos of his collection of special-shaped watches on Instagram.

Why follow?

From Cartier's Crash model to the asymmetrical Patek Philippe designed by Gilbert Albert, Roni owns an extraordinary collection that he continues to expand with youthful brands such as Berneron, Toledano & Chan and Anoma, from all of which he acquired a timepiece right from the time of their launch.
