I love dreaming of journeys, on Earth and, why not, interstellar versions! The Ressence Type 7 is the perfect horological UFO to embark on the great adventure. First, this astonishing dial, filled with oil – a signature of the brand – which eliminates reflections and offers remarkable readability. Then, this uniform midnight blue, deep, almost liquid. And then this intriguing, minimalist display, inviting us to rethink our reading – and our relationship – with time.
I particularly liked the full use of titanium, light as a feather, designed for escape, with a flexible bracelet, perfectly in tune with the times. A very practical detail: the ease with which you can lengthen it by a few millimeters. And how can you resist the call of time zones, with that essential second 24-hour time display?

Ressence once again surprises us with this integrated bracelet. I had the chance to wear it for an afternoon at the office to test it, and I find it very light, made of titanium, and very aesthetic with its pastel colors, here in night blue, and it also comes in aquamarine. Another pleasant surprise is the adjustable deployant clasp with 5 different positions, easy to adjust by yourself. The GMT function is present, as well as an oil temperature indicator. This model is aimed at a knowledgeable audience, both for reading the dial and for winding it from the back, but it’s all a matter of habit!

At first glance, the Ressence Type 7 Night Blue is a paradox: revolutionary yet recognisable as a Ressence creation. Its orbital time display - a miniature solar system on the wrist - still surprises, even though it is the brand's signature.

What immediately captivated me was the chameleon-like quality of the dial, which changes from muted Yale blue to vibrant sapphire blue depending on the light. The titanium construction and integrated bracelet provide a surprising lightness that contrasts with the visual weight of the dial and the flat lug design.
The watch requires a recalibration of expectations when switching from a 'traditional' timepiece to Benoit Mintiens' latest masterpiece. Setting the time on the rotating caseback feels strange at first, but becomes intuitive. The constantly moving display - subdials turning within rotating dials - creates a mesmerising effect that transforms timekeeping from a mechanical exercise into a fluid experience.
Eye-catching without being ostentatious, the T7 provokes questions from observers and passers-by. It's serious horology - and I mean SERIOUS - and genuinely fun to wear and look at.
Different in design, cool in execution, the Type 7 represents watchmaking that challenges convention while remaining functional and versatile. It's not just another blue watch - which we've seen a lot of this year - it's a unique conversation starter that packs a punch.
Would I add it to my collection? Without hesitation.

The Ressence Type 7 is everything you need and more! Its unconventional shape and design immediately caught my eye, but when I picked it up, I was genuinely impressed by how lightweight it felt. The choice of titanium for both the case and bracelet is ideal, especially considering that the Type 7 is Ressence’s first truly versatile watch.
Once on the wrist, the 41mm domed dial in a mesmerizing deep blue draws you in as the watch hands spin in a hypnotic fashion. The harmoniously paired materials, colors, and patterns come together to create a distinct sport-chic feeling, making the Ressence Type 7 effortlessly fit for any and all occasions.

What struck me with the Ressence Type 7 is how it challenges conventions. As soon as I had it in my hand, I noticed the unique dial, filled with oil, which completely transforms the experience. Time becomes fluid, almost abstract, with remarkable readability. And that blue – it's something else – a deep blue that seems to change depending on the light. A real treat for the eyes.
The titanium, which makes the watch incredibly light, is another highlight. It makes it very comfortable to wear, and the integrated bracelet fits seamlessly with the whole design. A nice bonus is the ease with which you can adjust the bracelet size, which is always handy.
The idea of setting the time from the back might seem a bit odd at first, but once you get used to it, it becomes quite intuitive. The watch invites you to rediscover time with this very unique reading, while still being fully functional on a daily basis.

In summary, the Type 7 is a model that stands out, not only for its design but also for the way it redefines the experience of watchmaking.
