Fabergé’s Lady Levity with Pig is a new design for the Lady Levity timepiece. Inspired by a silver gilt, enamel and rock crystal desk clock created by Peter Carl Fabergé, the Lady Levity with Pig is powered by a mechanical movement developed exclusively for Fabergé in partnership with Agenhor. The unique movement allows there to be a space where other watches place mechanics, freeing the design to prominently feature. For Chinese New Year, the pig motif takes centre stage, crafted in platinum on a domed bombé sapphire crystal set on a white mother-of-pearl dial. In keeping with the Fabergé tradition of surprise, the pig motif is only visible to the wearer under certain light conditions and at particular angles. It is encased in a 36mm 18 karat rose gold case, with alligator strap.
The Palais Tsarskoye Selo Red Locket with Pig Surprise features red guilloché enamel and 17 round white diamonds set in 18 karat yellow and rose gold. The locket opens with a gentle touch to reveal a delicate pink enamel pig with dazzling diamond eyes.
These two pieces commemorate Fabergé’s first individual creations for the Chinese New Year when, in 1911, master craftsman Francois Birbaum was commissioned by the royal court of Siam to make a series of objets and trinkets for the Year of the Pig. In 2016, Fabergé revived this tradition for Year of the Monkey and, in 2018, for the Year of the Dog.
Fabergé Lady Levity with Pig (CHF 26,925) and Palais Tsarskoye Selo Red Locket with Pig Surprise (CHF 8,831) are now available to purchase and pre-order from faberge.com and across selected Fabergé retailers.
