While legend has it that a treasure lies hidden at the end of the rainbow, it seems more likely to appear on the wrist. Patek Philippe has just unveiled this jewelry and mechanical watchmaking treasure by offering a Rainbow version of its contemporary sporty-chic Aquanaut Luce model, featuring a self-winding flyback chronograph for the first time in the brand’s women’s collections. The Geneva-based company has chosen to compose a veritable rainbow of colors through a double row of precious stones set on the bezel. The inner row features a succession of 40 baguette-cut diamonds set in a sophisticated “invisible setting” technique. This halo of light is itself surrounded by a setting of 40 sapphires forming a very subtle color gradient echoed by the rose gold hour-markers set with baguette-cut sapphires adorning the mother-of-pearl dial. The result is a sophisticated and joyful case celebrating the mechanical excellence nurtured by Patek Philippe
