Among Blancpain's die-hard fans, there are those who love its Villeret collection, pure classicism since 1980. Propelled into a new dimension in 2010 with a dozen new models at a time when Blancpain was verticalizing all its production, it has constantly reinforced the technicality of its content. Its new Quantième Complet perfectly illustrates this technical evolution, while adding a touch of modern aesthetics. Its distinctive green dial is inspired by the Jura forests surrounding Villeret, the brand's birthplace. With this Quantième Complet Villeret, Blancpain succeeds in seducing lovers of watches that are both classic and contemporary, and those for whom functionality and movement quality count. A sure bet!

The Villeret Quantième Complet is driven by the automatic Calibre 6654, a 321-component marvel. Beyond its beautiful finishing, this movement excels in practicality with its secure calendar and moonphase correction system, allowing adjustments without risking damage to the mechanism.
What’s more, Blancpain’s patented under-lug correctors enable effortless adjustments at any time – no stylus needed – while their discreet positioning preserves the smooth lines of the case.
At its heart, the 4Hz balance wheel features a silicon hairspring, offering elasticity without deformation, resistance to corrosion, and protection from magnetic fields – vital for top-notch accuracy. Adding to its allure, the movement delivers a very decent 72-hour power reserve, generated by a fetching guilloched gold winding rotor.

There is something about this timepiece that makes me smile. It encompasses everything I love about watchmaking: elegance, functionality, and playfulness. It starts with the red gold case, which oozes high watchmaking sophistication, and continues onto the green dial with its four central hands, man in the moon, and mix of Roman and Arabic numerals. The information is pleasantly displayed with the day and month in apertures at 12 o’clock, the date in a chapter ring below the hour numerals, and the phases of the moon at 6 o’clock. Of all the complications, I find the calendar the most useful - but only when it is easy to read - and the Blancpain Villeret Quantième Complet shows everything at a glance, which is a delight to see on the wrist.

As my colleagues have pointed out, there’s much to enjoy in the Villeret Quantième Complet. Blancpain has once again delivered a timepiece with a beautifully proportioned dial. Now, let’s dive straight into the case (pun intended). The Quantième Complet is nestled in a 40mm 18k red gold case, staying true to the Villeret collection’s classic aesthetic. With a thickness of 10.94mm, it strikes a balance between elegance and practicality and it offers 30 meters of water resistance. Last but not least, let’s turn the watch around. Like many of you, I appreciate a sapphire crystal case back, and Blancpain delivers here. The transparent back offers a crystal-clear (again, pun intended) view of the intricate movement, allowing you to admire its beating heart.

We often hear in the watch industry that green dials are the trend. We see a large variety of green dials every year, but for me, some stand out more than others. The dial on the Blancpain Villeret Quantième Complet is one of these. With its beautiful sunburst effect, contrasted with the 18 karat red gold accents, notably on the indexes, hands and moonphase, the colors offer a warm hue that oozes elegance on the wrist. In addition, some moonphases can seem rather bland and uninspiring. On this Blancpain, however, the caricature on the moon gives personality to the watch and creates a bond between the wearer and the timepiece. Finally, the font of the indexes adds great aesthetic beauty to the watch, having a slight curve in the lines. This softens the overall design and is perfectly in line with the spirit of the Villeret collection.
