Participants will enjoy exclusive access to the workshops and manufactures where exceptional timepieces are born. Here’s a sneak peek of Day 5, where participants will be able to visit the Grand Prix d'Horlogerie de Genève exhibition and take part in an introductory watchmaking workshop, before enjoying a surprise cocktail reception and closing dinner in Geneva's Old Town.
Watchmaking culture
Often referred to as the "Oscars of watchmaking", the GPHG has earned an international reputation in the global horological landscape. Every year since 2001, this esteemed event has recognized and celebrated the finest watchmaking achievements as well as the people who bring vitality and creativity to the industry. The GPHG's traveling exhibition showcases the year's top 90 watches across 15 categories, culminating in the highly anticipated awards ceremony in Geneva on November 13, 2024. Among the awards is the coveted Grand Prix de l'Aiguille d'Or.
Participants of the GMT Watch Safari will be among the first in Geneva to discover the GPHG exhibition at the Musée Rath – a unique opportunity to admire the year's finest creations, displayed in a bold and original scenography.
In the wheels of time
For those who dream of exploring the beating heart of these mechanical marvels, the GPHG is offering an introductory watchmaking workshop with l’École d’Horlogerie de Genève. This hands-on session will challenge you to assemble the components of a simple calibre - no easy task, but extremely instructive for anyone with a passion for watchmaking. Places are limited and only the first to register will be able to take part in this workshop.
